About me.

July 30, 2008

I say “nom nom nom” sometimes, aloud, when eating. And the habit predates lolcats.

I suffer from phantom thigh vibrations, as if my phone is going off when it’s not even in my pocket. Is someone sending text messages directly to my body?

I always ask “May I ask you a question?” instead of just getting to the question. I can’t help it.

A few weeks ago, I was smushing together some songs about dreams. (“Making a mix” falsely implies skill of some sort.) In my bedstand bin I came across an old Deee-Lite cd that I played so often in the summer of ‘93 that my dad shouted “I thought you liked music from Seattle!”

The dream songs were too sappy to share, but this one sounds like candy, and suits this summer, 15 years later.

This month I discovered my new favorite wildflower, a purple/pink star in the midst of buttercups and clover, so tiny that it took me several minutes to locate the others in the yard, hiding in the trees’ shade and under a picnic table.

I thought I’d exhausted the guidebooks and internet, but Mele found it here.

I somehow knew it would be an invasive species. Extend the metaphor.

My photo, from the first day:

I’ve become a fairly good ventriloquist, because I like to sing lustily in my car without attracting the attention of other drivers.
